Congratulations! The members of your troop have elected you to the Order of the Arrow. It is hoped that you will soon undertake your Ordeal.
Please remember that you have 18 months from the date of your election to complete your Ordeal! You must pre-register prior to your Ordeal, so plan accordingly!
Lodge Ordeal weekends take place in February and August and are listed on the Semialachee Lodge website as well as the Suwannee River Area Council website. The fee details and a link to the online registration system can be found there. The fee covers meals, a sash, a collectible member-only lodge flap, an OA Handbook, and lodge dues for the current year.
Check-in is from 6:00 to 7:30 pm on Friday. No meal is provided Friday night, so please eat beforehand. Checkout is on Sunday around 10:30 am, following a brief introductory Lodge meeting (annual Lodge meeting occurs in August). Full attendance for the entire weekend is required. If you have religious obligations on Sunday, please speak with the registrar when checking in on Friday. In special cases, members may leave as early as 10 pm on Saturday after the Ordeal induction ceremony, but this requires prior notification to the Lodge Adviser by a parent.
Each candidate should bring the following: a tarp, sleeping bag, backpack or gear bag (trash bags are not suitable!), flashlight, work gloves, water bottle or hydration system, personal hygiene items, sunscreen, insect repellent, work clothes, full field uniform on a hanger, a poncho or rain gear (in case of rain) and, of course, plenty of Scout Spirit!
IT IS CRITICAL THAT YOU BRING A TARP LARGE ENOUGH TO WRAP AROUND YOU AND YOUR SLEEPING BAG!
